Osprey Daylite Plus vs Daylite

Commons

First of all, both of these Daylite backpacks are made up of 300D polyester majorly and 600D polyester is used for the bottoms. 600D polyester is known to be a heavy-duty fabric that has great durability, thickness, and water resistance. If we talk about the 300D polyester then not equal to 600D but it also has good water resistance and durability.

Moreover, both have the same designs for compartments, laptop sleeves, compression straps, and side pockets. Along with them, both consist of identical padded backs and ergonomic straps for the shoulder, hip, and chest.

Differences

First, the Daylite Plus has the storage of 20 liters whereas the Daylite has the capacity of 13 liters only. Second, a shallow pocket is given to the Daylite Plus at the front while Daylite doesn’t have it. Furthermore, a small utility zippered pocket is present on the shallow pocket for quick access to requisites.

Moreover, the size of the bags also differs as Daylite Plus has 19 x 11 x 9.5 inches dimensions whereas Daylite has 17 x 10 x 8 inches. And, because of these properties, Daylite Plus is more expensive compared to Daylite.

Osprey Daylite Plus vs Hikelite 18

Commons

There are very small similarities between these Osprey bags, therewithal many differences can be spotted. Talking about the commons first, only the last compartment, laptop sleeve, and side pockets have the same design in both. Besides them, the compression straps, hip straps, and sternum belts are identical in Daylite Plus and Hikelite 18.

Differences

Starting with the material, Daylite Plus is made of 300D polyester whereas Hikelite is made up of 100D Nylon. Which is better? 300D polyester is more water-resistant, strong, and durable than 100D nylon. Therefore, Daylite Plus wins the material section because of its better fabric properties than that of Hikelite.

Talking about the space, Daylite Plus has a storage capacity of 20 liters while Hikelite has 18 liters. Due to the storage difference, Hikelite is a bit smaller in size as compared to Daylite Plus.

Moreover, the first compartment on Daylite Plus has a halfway zipper, though Hikelite has a small zipper opening. And, there is no shallow pocket on the Hikelite since Daylite Plus has it with a utility zipper pocket.

At last, Hikelite has a padded back along with a mesh layer over it to provide better breathability than Daylite Plus. Not only on the back but the shoulder straps of the Hikelite also has a mesh layer over them. Personally, I don’t think Hikelite should be bought at a higher price just for better breathability; Daylite Plus won all the major sections.

Commons

Besides the side pockets and straps, there are no other similarities between these two backpacks. Therewithal, a big difference can be observed between these two Osprey bags in terms of design and price as well.

Differences

Just like the previous comparison, these backpacks are also made up of different materials. The Daylite Plus is manufactured with 300D polyester whereas Talon 22 is from 100D x 210D high tenacity nylon. On comparing the fabrics, we can find that high tenacity nylon comprises great tensile strength, thickness, durability, and toughness. Due to this reason, you can see a large price difference between Talon and Daylite Plus backpacks.

Now, coming down to their spaces, Daylite Plus has 20 liters of storage while the Talon 22 comes in two variants 20 and 22 liters. With this, it can be said that the compartments of Talon 22 have more volume than the Daylite Plus. Furthermore, both of these packs have shallow pockets at the front but with different designs, and yes Talon’s is bigger.

To boot, Talon comes with zipper pouches on its hip belts which offer you quick access to the necessary items. Along with that, a strip section is given on the Talon’s left shoulder strap where you can keep your sunglasses. Plus, the back of the Talon has a better ergonomic structure when compared to Daylite Plus. All of these features are not found in Daylite Plus whereas Talon has a lot to offer, making a big price gap.
