Which methods Should You Avoid To Clean Faux Leather?

There are many methods given on several pages when you search how to clean white faux leather bag and not all of them are right. Like, you may have seen cleaning colorful vegan leather with an eraser which may result in lightening of that area. This will make your bag look worst instead of toning it correctly.

Also, some people recommend using vegetable oil to clean the bag which is absolutely wrong. Moreover, some suggest using genuine leather polishes for the vegan leather surface, which is again the wrong advice. Because faux and vegan leather doesn’t have a tighten and thick surface just like the real leather thus polish doesn’t go well with them.

Difference Between Faux And Vegan Leather

Vegan leather is completely made of natural elements, therefore no toxins are present in it. Whereas faux leather is made up of chemically bonded layers that may contain some percentage of genuine leather. Furthermore, the faux leather is of two types, Polyurethane and Polyvinyl Chloride.

Hope you have understood the basic difference between Faux and Vegan leather. In case you want to read about them in detail then check out a dedicated article for the same that I have posted on this blog.

You may be wondering, “Are Vegan Leather Bags Durable?” No doubt that they are durable but only when you care for them in the right way. And, if you don’t know how can you do it then keep reading as I am about to mention the care guide.

How To Care For Faux Leather?

I suggest not to carry any sharp-edged objects and overweight in the bag. Moreover, high temperatures and heat are not very good for the surface of vegan or faux leather products. So, keep your bag away from the heat and fire.

Also, clean your bag after every small time interval otherwise dirt may accumulate at the depth of the surface. And, it may be difficult to remove the dirt or stain later.

Furthermore, you must clean your faux leather bag with the right methods. Because using hard detergents or cleansers easily damages the faux/vegan surface which you wouldn’t want to happen to your bag.
