Pockets

One of my friends has been using Farpoint for months and I am going to write an Osprey Farpoint 40 review on his behalf. He says, “I am very happy to buy this backpack because it has well-designed compartments and inner pockets. Due to these properties, I find it easy to carry my belongings in a well-organized way.” He also sent me some pictures of this backpack that you can see below.

As you can see in the middle section, slot and sleeve are present in it to manage the requisites. Zippered slot and open sleeve with velcro flap can be utilized to upkeep documents, powerbank, and laptop respectively. Moreover, a small pouch is present over the middle section where you can store some necessary things within your reach.

Also, he sent me the images of the last section and stated, “the main compartment of the backpack is very roomy and consists of a big mesh pocket.” If you have a habit of carrying your undergarments separate from your clothes then you can use this pocket for good.

Furthermore, mesh pockets are present on the front of the bag to hold water bottles. Therewithal, you can stay hydrated during a long day hiking or trekking.

Moreover, this backpack comes with a dual-way zipper that is compatible with using TSA locks (Transportation Security Locks). This quality keeps your belongings protected from theft during a trip. Hashtag: Worriless trips are happy trips.

Back & Straps

He also tells, “I never get any ache while carrying Farpoint 40 for hours or hiking because of its spongy padded back. Over and above that, the mesh surface provides breathability to my back and maintains the proper air circulation. Plus, the thick straps, sternum belt, and hip belts are ergonomically designed which also deliver great comfort to me.” The sternum and hip belts have a buckle closure which can be adjusted at one’s leisure and provide a great fix while carrying the bag.

And, I have already answered about the water-resistant property of the bag above. Overall, it can be considered a perfect pick for traveling, hiking, and camping according to my friend’s Osprey Farpoint 40 review. In the last, he stated, “My personal experience with Farpoint is more than satisfying and I recommend buying this backpack.”

Warranty

Osprey offers an ALL MIGHTY GUARANTEE for its products. What does that mean? It is a lifetime warranty gift from Osprey in which the brand repairs the pack’s damage without charging you any cost or fee.

What I Disliked About Farpoint 40

The water bottle holders are present on the backpack’s front, not at the sides. It means you can’t take out the water bottle while carrying the backpack on your shoulders. It may be irritating to take off the backpack every time you need to reach your bottle. I found the same problem in Osprey Fairview 40 backpack as well. And, we all know that no product is completely perfect in itself. So, one can ignore this issue for the other amazing features and properties.

Osprey Farpoint 40 vs Fairview 40

First: The hip-belts of the Fairview are shorter and deeper than Farpoint because Fairview is designed for women.

Second: The shoulder straps of the Farpoint are a little bit thicker and straight than the Fairview. Withal, the shoulder straps in Fairview have a little bit of curve moving out to the bottom.

Third: Fairview has buckle clasps on the shoulder straps to tuck the sternum straps when not in use whereas Farpoint doesn’t have them.

Forth: Farpoint is available in four variants, which are 40, 55, 70, and 80. Whereas Fairview is only available in three variants, which are 40, 55, and 70.

Sixth: Farpoint is available in Volcanic Grey, Jasper Red, and Black tones. And, Fairview is available in Misty Grey, Rainforest Green, and Black tones.

So, these were the only differences between Osprey Farpoint and Fairview. There are no other differences that can be spotted between them.

What Do Farpoint/Fairview 40, 55, 70, And 80 Variants Mean?

40 Variant: It means the backpack has a volume of 40 liters. According to me, this is enough storage capacity required for a 3-4 days trip or hiking. Also, the 40L variant meets all the restrictions of carry-on, so can be carried on the flight without any problem.

55 Variant: This variant has 40 liters volume and comes with a detachable 15 liters daypack. And, due to its same dimensions as of 40L variant, the 55 variant is also considered a carry-on backpack.

70 Variant: Both 55 and 70 variants are the same in every way except that 70 is bigger in dimensions as compared to 55. The larger space may be advantageous to carry a lot of stuff but it can’t be allowed as a carry-on pack.

80 Variant: It has a storage volume of 80 liters making it a big daddy of the other variants. There is no detachable daypack in this variant. But there are one upper and lower compartments which can be used to hold extra gears and toiletries as well.

Conclusion

I have already mentioned differences in the Osprey Farpoint 40 vs Fairview 40 part. That clearly shows why Farpoint is designed for men and Fairview for women. The main reason for the same is the hip belt which is shorter in Fairview than in Farpoint.

Talking about the design, both of them have unisexual designs and similar specifications, so you can pick any one of them. But before buying, measure your requirements in terms of the hip belt.

So, that was my Osprey Farpoint 40 review and its comparison with Fairview 40.
